Synopsis

Maomao, a young woman raised by an apothecary, is kidnapped and sold into servitude at the emperor's palace. Despite her lowly position, her sharp intellect and knowledge of medicine quickly draw attention when she solves medical mysteries that stump the imperial doctors.

Recognizing her talents, the handsome eunuch Jinshi promotes her to lady-in-waiting for the emperor's infant son. As Maomao navigates the dangerous political intrigues of the inner court, she uses her skills to uncover the truth behind various mysterious illnesses and poisonings, all while trying to maintain her low profile and eventually earn her freedom.
